  • What is mental health

  • Common types of mental health problems

  • Why do mental health issues arise

  • What are some of the pressures and challenges facing young people

  • How can we support and talk to our young person about their mental health

  • How can we take care of our own mental Health

  • Where can we go for support for ourselves and our young person

Parent and Carer Workshops also provide an opportunity for parents and carers to ask questions to a mental health professional who is able to provide insight and professional knowledge into the experiences facing young people today. They are an opportunity to learn more about the experiences and challenges facing young people, from someone who has significant professional experience in the sector and who also has personal experiences to touch upon. Workshops can feature a discussion into the way these pressures and challenges can affect behaviour and state of mind, and can allow for an open question and answer session for parents to ask about any areas that they may want further information on.

Let's Talk Mental Health can also deliver workshops relating to specific mental health conditions and practical coping strategies and advice. An example of this might be "What is anxiety and what strategies can I introduce to support my child?".

The cost of parent workshops will vary dependant on the size of the group, the level of customisation, and the travel that is required to reach the school. If you would be interested in discussing this further, please do get in touch.

With an increasing number of young people experiencing mental health issues, the need to provide support for parents and carers is also ever present.

Workshops that cover an introduction to mental health can be delivered to parents, to follow a rough outline as follows;
